Safety Director
Our client is seeking a dedicated Safety Director to oversee and enhance our safety protocols within the waste coal mining sector. Focus:
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs and initiatives that align with industry regulations and company standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Lead and coordinate safety training sessions for all employees to ensure a thorough understanding of safety practices and regulations.
- Manage and review documentation and reporting related to safety incidents and compliance measures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related issues, providing guidance and leadership to ensure safe work practices.
- Collaborate with management to continually assess and improve safety policies and procedures.
Skill Set:
- Minimum of five years of experience in mining, heavy manufacturing, or industrial settings, with a strong preference for candidates with direct experience in the coal mining industry.
- Possession of Pennsylvania Surface Coal Foreman certification is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic with a commitment to achieving workplace safety objectives.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving situations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively training and leading diverse teams.
- Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations, including MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) standards.
- Experience with safety compliance auditing and risk assessment.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic safety plans and initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret safety data and provide recommendation.
